Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Group Leader at our upstate summer camp, where you will inspire and guide young minds through engaging activities and outdoor experiences in a fun and supportive camp environment. Transportation to and from the campsite will be provided daily. This role is perfect for energetic, compassionate individuals passionate about fostering childhood development and creating a safe, nurturing environment. As a Group Leader, you will coordinate daily schedules, manage group activities, and support children’s social, emotional, and personal growth throughout the summer. Your leadership will help shape positive experiences that promote confidence, creativity, teamwork, and learning.
Duties
- Lead and supervise groups of children during various camp activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational games, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor activities, and team-building exercises.
- Manage campsite activity areas to promote positive behavior management and smooth transitions between activities.
- Support children’s individual needs by applying childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to monitor children’s progress and address any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding children’s participation and well-being.
- Travel daily with campers and staff to and from the upstate campsite using provided transportation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in childcare, camp leadership, youth programs, or related roles working with children of various ages.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
- Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, tutoring, or outdoor recreation is a plus for versatile activity planning.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children.
