16 hours per week, term time only

Hybrid role: Home based + delivering groups at various locations in the Cotswolds + occasional meetings at our office in Cirencester

Salary £30,518.00 (per annum, pro rata)

Home-Start Cotswolds is a local charity providing trained volunteers and expert group support to families with young children, helping them through their challenging times.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced ‘group worker’ to continue the delivery of our perinatal groups. The position involves delivering a rolling programme of groups to parents, at various locations in the Cotswolds (currently in Bourton-on-the-Water, Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade and Moreton-in-Marsh). Our ‘Baby and Me’ group supports parents in the postnatal period and our ‘Reconnect’ group supports perinatal mental wellbeing.

As a Group Worker, you will report to our Group Coordinator and you will plan and deliver our group sessions to new parents at various locations in the Cotswolds. Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of ‘Baby + Me’ group sessions, aimed at new parents and their babies aged 0 – 6 months.
• Delivery of ‘Reconnect’ group sessions, aimed at Mums facing challenges to their mental health (with children aged 0 – 2 years).
• Planning, evaluation and development of group sessions.
• Liaising with families, referrers, community networks to ensure groups are well attended.

To be successful in this role you will have established and relevant work experience in the field of frontline family support, including the perinatal period; as well as experience of planning, delivering and presenting support group programmes.

Our groups are well established and known for their welcoming, all-inclusive approach. As a result, it’s essential that you have well developed interpersonal skills and a compassionate and understanding approach.

As our groups are at various locations around the Cotswold district, a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential. When not delivering a group, this role is home based with occasional meetings held at our office in Cirencester. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
