Grower/Lot Manager at Iowa City Landscaping & Garden Center

Iowa City Landscaping is seeking a full-time skilled grower/lot manager to join our team at our Herbert Hoover Hwy location. You will be responsible for the healthcare and maintenance of our nursery production trees, shrubs and perennials.

• Oversees watering and nutritional management of plant material.
• Integrated Pest Management. Identify and manage pests and diseases, monitor plant health, and implement control strategies.
• Trim plants to manage growth.
• Unload and sort plant material.
• Unload materials for our installation teams.
• Keep the lot mowed and well maintained.
• Supervise workers to complete tasks.

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

• Experience or strong knowledge of horticultural practices in a nursery setting, farming, or gardening.
• Supervisory skills or the ability to lead a team of workers.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivation.

What will make you stand out?

• Familiarity with nursery operations and maintenance
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues
• Pesticide Applicator Certification or willing to attain certification.
• Equipment operator experience- Skid steers, lawn mower, tractor, Gator.
