Creating Changes Counseling is a private-pay trauma and anxiety therapy practice serving high-functioning adults in Katy and West Houston. We specialize in Brainspotting and advanced trauma treatment and are in a growth phase focused on strategic brand expansion and community visibility.
We are seeking a highly capable, self-directed Marketing Strategy Intern to help architect and build out our marketing systems from the ground up.
This is not a task-based internship.
This is a build-it role.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, strategic, analytical, and confident taking initiative in an environment where they will help define the roadmap.
Position Overview
The Marketing Strategy & Growth Intern will work directly with the practice owner to design and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aimed at increasing brand visibility, referral partnerships, and qualified private-pay client inquiries.
You will play a central role in building the structure, processes, and systems that support long-term growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Marketing Development
- Conduct competitive and market analysis for private-pay therapy practices
- Develop a 6–12 month marketing roadmap
- Identify high-ROI marketing channels and create execution plans
- Recommend positioning and messaging improvements
Digital Marketing & SEO
- Optimize website content for SEO (local + specialty keywords)
- Conduct keyword research and competitor audits
- Improve Google Business Profile visibility
- Support Google Ads strategy optimization
- Track and interpret analytics (Google Analytics, Ads data, conversion tracking)
Content & Brand Authority
- Develop blog strategy and editorial calendar
- Repurpose long-form content into social media and email marketing
- Draft thought-leadership content in the voice of the practice
- Identify opportunities for podcast features, guest blogs, and media exposure
Referral Network & Community Strategy
- Identify strategic referral partners (physicians, psychiatrists, concierge doctors, etc.)
- Assist in creating professional outreach materials
- Develop system for tracking referral relationships
- Support local visibility strategy
Systems & Infrastructure
- Help define workflows for ongoing marketing efforts
- Create SOPs for repeatable marketing processes
- Build dashboards or reporting templates for performance tracking

Preferred Qualifications
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- Experience with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, etc.)
- Experience running or analyzing Google Ads campaigns
- Strong writing skills with ability to adapt tone
- Familiarity with service-based or healthcare marketing is a plus
- Experience working with entrepreneurs or small businesses is strongly preferred

Paid internship (rate based on experience).
Flexible schedule (10–20 hours/week).
