GSE instructor - Coordinator

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Work under the management of and report to the site Superintendent in the Directorate of Aircraft Maintenance at the Base.
2. Perform repair and maintenance of ground support equipment.
3. Study layout drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and technical instructions to solve repair or maintenance problems.
4. Determine proper maintenance and repair procedures to correct defective or malfunctioning equipment.
5. Diagnose recurring malfunctions and recommend corrective actions by initiating Material Deficiency Reports, proposed modifications, or other prescribed means.
6. Determine proper and suitable substitution of parts and components.
7. Recommend revised policies or work methods to facilitate training and the effective use of personnel and equipment.
8. Use prescribed test sets to determine proper operation of equipment, interpret findings, and make corrective adjustments.
9. Inspect equipment, calibrations, and scheduled/unscheduled repairs of GSE and related components.
10. Perform GSE inspections.
11. Inspect and operate powered and non-powered ground equipment, maintenance stands, jacks, towing units, and related support equipment.
12. Inventory and inspect GSE in accordance with applicable technical order procedures.
13. Supervise scheduled inspection of GSE (including daily, weekly, monthly, and calibration inspections) as per laid-down procedures and cycles.
14. Review maintenance forms, GSE records, and reports to ensure complete documentation.
15. Troubleshoot and diagnose support equipment malfunctions.
16. Perform repairs on equipment such as compressors, hydraulic/pneumatic sets, air conditioners, heaters, and test stands.
17. Perform operator maintenance, servicing, and inspection of hydraulic rigs, GPUs, etc.
18. Remove, test, repair, or replace components and accessories of GSE.
19. Check and adjust tolerances of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, drive shafts, and couplings.
20. Operate and test ground equipment for leakage, output, pressure, adjustment, and operational freedom.
21. Perform corrosion control.
22. Supervise support equipment personnel.
23. Plan and schedule work assignments.
24. Establish work methods, production controls, and performance standards.
25. Orient newly assigned personnel.
26. Assign individual maintenance tasks and establish priorities for work completion.
27. Evaluate work performance in equipment maintenance activities for compliance with directives, technical orders, work standards, and policies.
28. Conduct on-the-job training as a trainer, ensuring personnel are qualified to operate equipment through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
