Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work under the management of and report to the site Superintendent in the Directorate of Aircraft Maintenance at the Base.
- Perform repair and maintenance of ground support equipment.
- Study layout drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and technical instructions to solve repair or maintenance problems.
- Determine proper maintenance and repair procedures to correct defective or malfunctioning equipment.
- Diagnose recurring malfunctions and recommend corrective actions through Material Deficiency Reports, proposed modifications, or other means.
- Select proper and suitable replacement parts and components.
- Recommend revised policies or work methods to facilitate full training and utilization of personnel and equipment.
- Use prescribed test sets to verify proper operation of equipment, interpret findings, and make corrective adjustments.
- Inspect equipment, calibrations, and perform scheduled or unscheduled repairs of GSE and related components.
- Perform GSE inspections.
- Inspect and operate powered and non-powered ground equipment, maintenance stands, jacks, towing units, and related support equipment.
- Inventory and inspect GSE according to applicable technical order procedures.
- Supervise scheduled inspections of GSE, including daily, weekly, monthly, and calibrations, following laid-down procedures and cycles.
- Review maintenance forms, GSE records, and reports to ensure complete documentation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose support equipment malfunctions.
- Perform repairs on equipment such as compressors, hydraulic/pneumatic sets, air conditioners, heaters, and test stands.
- Perform operator maintenance, servicing, and inspection of hydraulic rigs, GPUs, etc.
- Remove, test, repair, or replace components and accessories of GSE.
- Check and adjust tolerances of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, drive shafts, and couplings.
- Operate and test ground equipment for leakage, output, pressure, adjustment, and operation freedom.
- Perform corrosion control.
- Supervise support equipment personnel.
- Plan and schedule work assignments.
- Establish work methods, production controls, and performance standards.
- Orient newly assigned personnel.
- Assign maintenance tasks to subordinates and set priorities for work completion.
- Evaluate work performance in equipment maintenance per directives, technical orders, and standards.
- Conduct on-the-job training, with a trainer-to-trainee ratio of 1:3, to qualify personnel on operating equipment and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
