GSRP Assistant Teacher (Preschool CDA Required)

Job Summary

Education Station is seeking warm, flexible, and dependable GSRP Assistant to support our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) preschool classrooms. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about early childhood education and looking for meaningful, flexible work in a nurturing, child-centered environment. As a GSRP Assistant teacher, you’ll provide essential support in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the lead teacher in implementing daily routines and classroom activities
  • Assist with play-based learning experiences and small/large group instruction
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children
  • Help manage classroom transitions, meals, rest time, and cleanup
  • Use developmentally appropriate practices and positive guidance when interacting with children
  • Step into the assistant teacher role when needed to maintain structure and continuity
  • Assist with observations and documentation of child development
  • Maintain open communication and teamwork with classroom staff
  • Follow all GSRP guidelines and Michigan child care licensing regulations
  • Willing to go to ongoing training and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • Comfortable in a structured early learning environment
  • Friendly, flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements (We Can Assist):

  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Fingerprinting through LARA (Licensing and Regulatory Affairs)

Experience

  • 4 year old preschool experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Completion of LARA child care licensing fingerprint clearance (assistance available if needed).
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid (assistance available if needed).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and participate in regular professional development and staff meetings.
