Job Summary

The Guideshop Technician is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing guides and guide boxes used in the rolling mill. This role ensures precision alignment and smooth bar guiding during the rolling process, supporting optimal mill performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair guides, guide boxes, and associated components.
• Inspect guide wear, alignment, and surface condition.
• Perform grinding, polishing, and fitting of guide components.
• Maintain inventory of guide parts and tools.
• Ensure correct setup and adjustment according to rolling passes.
• Support roll changes and mill setup activities.
• Maintain accurate records of guide maintenance and replacements.
• Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain cleanliness.

Requirements

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in guide maintenance within steel rolling mills.
• Strong understanding of rolling mill guide systems and alignment requirements.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow setup instructions.
• Experience with hand tools, measuring tools, and grinding equipment.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial environments.
