Duties

• Design and implement comprehensive guitar curricula tailored to individual student needs, skill levels, and learning goals
• Conduct engaging lessons for children, teenagers, and adults, ensuring each session promotes technical skill development and musical expression
• Manage classroom dynamics effectively by applying behavior management techniques and maintaining a respectful, focused environment
• Develop customized lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methods, including theory, sight-reading, improvisation, and performance preparation
• Track student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to motivate continued improvement
• Organize recitals or performances to showcase student achievements and boost confidence
• Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and recommend practice strategies or additional support when needed

Skills

• Proven experience in teaching guitar to diverse age groups with a focus on effective classroom management
• Strong curriculum development skills to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles
• Excellent tutoring abilities with patience and adaptability for students at all levels, including early childhood education and adult learners
• Knowledge of childhood development principles relevant to music education and special education needs
• Ability to incorporate creative activities such as photography, theater, or dancing into lessons to enhance musical understanding
• Experience with classroom experience in educational settings or private instruction environments
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster positive learning experiences
• Skills in lesson planning that integrate musical theory, performance techniques, and expressive playing
• Additional interests such as ballet, sewing, culinary arts, or childcare can be leveraged to create holistic arts-based programs for students
