Guitar Instructor, Local

fp Music Academy is looking for a committed part-time Guitar Instructor to join our team.

You would provide private one-on-one music education both in-person and online to a wide variety of ages and abilities. You will be responsible for passing along to others your musical skills and abilities. You must provide knowledge and instruction to students while helping them develop skills that complement their interests and abilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. You must be patient and encouraging at all times, providing help to students who may struggle with grasping the concepts and skills that you are trying to convey.

The ability to teach multiple musical instruments is a plus.

Guitar luthier skills are a plus.

Qualifications:

• Be proficient in acoustic and electric guitar
• Have the ability to read tabs and (ideally) music notation and play from written music
• Have the ability to play by ear
• Be skilled in developing and enriching your own musical skills and knowledge by regular personal development
• Be comfortable with some remote work and open to teaching online
• Provide individualized instruction to each student whether in-person or online by interactive learning
• Have a deep interest in passing along to others the musical skills and abilities that you have acquired
• Skilled in assessing students’ progress and providing constructive feedback
• Interest in collaborating with other teachers and participating in regular meetings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Be comfortable using technology to support your work
• Strong moral values and self-discipline
