Description of Organization: Habitat for Humanity of Smith County (HFHSC) is a non-profit housing ministry that seeks to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. We partner with families to build and repair decent, affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity Smith County is working to create a team of individuals with high ethical standards who work diligently and enjoy turning challenges into opportunities.
Overview: The ReStore Procurement & Driver plays an integral role on our team, working closely with suppliers and partners to secure quality donated products and pick up of local donated items that will support the revenue generation goals of HFHSC. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a customer-focused mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for serving the community. Work closely with team in coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all inventory activities.
Responsibilities:
Procurement and Processing:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential vendors, and suppliers to secure quality purchased products.
- Solicit donations of new and gently used goods, including (but not limited to) furniture, appliances, building materials, and home decor.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Coordinate schedule of donation pickups / deliveries with suppliers.
- Receive, inspect, and process donated and purchased products for quality, condition, and marketability.
- Assist with loading and unloading donations.
- Work collaboratively with ReStore Sales and Inventory Manager ensuring sufficient product inventory level.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on donation procurement activities, including donation metrics, trends, and outcomes.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies to optimize donation procurement efforts.
- Provide input and recommendations to the management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Community Engagement
- Represent ReStore in the community and at networking events to promote donation opportunities and raise awareness of HFHSC’s mission.
- Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to develop and implement strategies to increase donations and donor engagement.
- Participate in community events and initiatives to enhance ReStore's visibility and impact.
Support, Safety, and Security
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Provide support to volunteers and assist with training and orientation as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and secure store environment for customers, volunteers, and staff.
- Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to management immediately.
- Help enforce store policies related to theft prevention and loss control.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift items weighing at least 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of retail procurement, including inventory management, merchandising, and store procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills & attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
