Hair Salon Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Salon Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in our salon. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle various administrative tasks while promoting salon services.

Zinke Hair Studio is a locally-run and women-owned Aveda Lifestyle Salon located in the Twenty Ninth Street Mall in Boulder. Familiarity with the salon industry -- especially knowledge of Aveda products, services, and overall mission -- is a plus, but not a requirement.

We are looking to hire someone that only needs 8-15 hours a week and Saturday availability is a REQUIREMENT. More hours may become available.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
• Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, rescheduling, and confirming appointments via phone and in-person.
• Maintain an organized reception area, ensuring it is clean and inviting for clients.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including processing payments for services and products.
• Upsell salon services and products to enhance client experience and increase sales.
• Answer phone calls with professionalism, providing information about services, pricing, and availability.
• Assist in managing inventory levels of retail products and supplies.
• Provide support to salon staff as needed, including supervising junior receptionists or trainees.

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Strong phone etiquette to communicate effectively with clients.
• Ability to upsell services and products confidently.
• Proficient in cash handling and basic sales transactions.
• Experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing appointments and records.
