Hardscape Installer / Equipment Operator

Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN (Projects throughout Dakota County and surrounding areas)

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $25 – $60.00/hr (Based on experience and productivity)

Schedule: Flexible schedule; Season runs April/May through October/November

Payment: Bi-weekly direct deposit

About the Position

Renew Landscaping is seeking an experienced Hardscape Installer / Equipment Operator to join our landscape construction team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, building high-quality outdoor spaces, and taking pride in craftsmanship.

We are looking for individuals who can work efficiently, maintain high-quality standards, and contribute to the successful completion of retaining walls, paver patios, drainage systems, and landscape construction projects.

Responsibilities Equipment Operation

• Operate skid steers, mini skid steers, compact excavators, plate compactors, and other landscape construction equipment.
• Perform excavation, grading, material movement, and site preparation.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage construction materials.

Hardscape Construction

• Install segmental concrete block retaining walls.
• Install paver patios, walkways, driveways, steps, and outdoor living spaces.
• Install natural stone and manufactured stone products.
• Complete proper base preparation, compaction, leveling, and finishing work.

Drainage & Site Work

• Install French drains, catch basins, channel drains, drain tile systems, and grading improvements.
• Read site elevations and establish proper drainage throughout projects.
• Assist with erosion control and site stabilization.

Landscape Installation

• Install landscape fabric, decorative rock, mulch, edging, sod, trees, and shrubs.
• Perform final grading and project cleanup.
• Maintain a clean and professional job site.

QualificationsExperience

• Minimum 2 years of landscape construction, hardscape installation, excavation, or related experience.
• Experience installing retaining walls and paver systems preferred.

Equipment Skills

• Proficiency in operating skid steers, mini skid steers, and compact excavation equipment.
• Ability to safely work around utilities, structures, and finished surfaces.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day.

Licensing

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience towing trailers and securing equipment preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $60.00 per hour
