Responsibilities

• Develop detailed and accurate project estimates for hardscape and landscape installations, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget constraints to create compelling landscape designs that meet their needs.
• Utilize design software and tools to produce visual layouts, drawings, and presentations that clearly communicate project concepts.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure all aspects of the project are accurately estimated and aligned with client expectations.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates are feasible and align with project timelines and budgets.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to maintain cost control and identify opportunities for value engineering or adjustments as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline scope of work, pricing strategies, and contractual terms using tools like HeavyBid, Jobber, Bluebeam, etc.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights, verify measurements, and assess potential challenges before finalizing estimates.
• Assist in contract negotiations and review contractual documents to safeguard company interests while fostering positive relationships with clients.

Skills

• Proficiency in construction estimating software.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Solid understanding of construction management principles, including cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Extensive knowledge of hardscape materials (pavers, retaining walls, stonework) and landscape components (plants, irrigation systems).
• Construction site experience providing insight into installation processes and potential challenges on-site.
• Excellent project management abilities to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently from estimation through completion.
• Familiarity with contracts, bidding procedures, and legal considerations within the construction industry.
