Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Zoo Funding Analyst to join our team in <LOCATION>. This role is vital in managing and analyzing financial data related to zoo funding initiatives, ensuring accurate allocation of resources, and supporting the financial planning process. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial software and a passion for supporting wildlife conservation and education efforts. Duties

  • Analyze and interpret financial data related to zoo funding sources, grants, and allocations
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and funding agencies
  • Monitor budget expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and organizational policies
  • Collaborate with department managers to forecast future funding needs and develop financial strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using relevant financial software
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and funding applications as needed
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial activities
  • Stay updated on changes in funding regulations, policies, and best practices relevant to zoo operations

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Knowledge of grant management, budgeting, and financial reporting processes is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
  • Passion for wildlife conservation, education, or non-profit work is a plus
