Role Overview
The Head – Accounts & Finance will be responsible for end-to-end financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and control for QVC Group. This role requires deep expertise in balance sheet finalisation, SAP-driven accounting environments, statutory compliance, and exposure to startup funding, audits, and stakeholder reporting. The incumbent will ensure financial accuracy, regulatory adherence, and timely reporting while supporting strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee complete books of accounts including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closure of accounts within defined timelines.
- Lead Balance Sheet finalisation, P&L review, and cash flow analysis.
- Prepare and present MIS reports, variance analysis, and financial dashboards for management and investors.
2. Compliance & Statutory Matters
- Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS / AS), Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and assessments.
- Handle GST returns, reconciliations, notices, and departmental interactions.
- Maintain robust internal controls and documentation to ensure audit readiness.
3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Monitor budget vs actuals and provide actionable insights to business heads.
- Support working capital management and cash flow optimization.
4. SAP & Systems Management
- Act as the functional owner for SAP (FI/CO modules) and other ERP systems.
- Ensure accurate configuration, data integrity, and process discipline in SAP.
- Drive automation, process improvements, and system controls in finance operations.
5. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Oversee vendor payments, credit controls, and customer receivables.
- Ensure timely collections, ageing analysis, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor credit exposure and support commercial teams with financial inputs.
6. Startup Funding & Stakeholder Support
- Support startup funding activities, including financial due diligence, data rooms, and investor reporting.
- Prepare financial information for banks, investors, and financial institutions.
- Assist leadership in strategic financial planning and fundraising readiness.
7. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor the accounts and finance team.
- Work closely with operations, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure financial alignment.
- Establish SOPs, timelines, and performance benchmarks for the finance function.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, balance sheet finalisation, and compliance
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory regulations
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (mandatory) and other accounting systems
- Sound understanding of manufacturing/export accounting, inventory valuation, and cost structures
- Exposure to startup environments, funding, and investor reporting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and deadline-management skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CA / CPA /CA Inter equivalent professional qualification preferred
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Accounts & Finance roles
- Prior experience in manufacturing or export-oriented organizations is a strong advantage
