Head Cashier/Customer Service

Nikavonni's is a small but high-traffic clothing store in need of a part-time/full-time Head Cashier to take over the responsibilities of processing customer transactions, and customer service in our store. We’re looking for a mature, trustworthy, motivated and highly organized professional with retail cashier experience and an excellent head for numbers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greeting customers including answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate party. Handling cash transactions, receiving and processes all payments according to standard procedures, some assisting with customer sales may apply! EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS ARE A REQUIREMENT! Cashier experience is a MUST!

Position Summary

The Head Cashier at Nikavonnis is responsible for overseeing all front-end operations, ensuring excellent customer service, accurate transactions, and efficient daily cash handling. This role leads by example, supports the cashier team, and helps maintain a smooth and welcoming shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and questions promptly
  • Ensure every customer has a positive checkout experience

Cash Handling & Transactions

  • Accurately process cash, credit/debit, and digital transactions
  • Open and close registers, ensuring proper cash counts and balancing
  • Handle returns, exchanges, and store credits according to policy
  • Monitor and prevent cash discrepancies and report issues immediately

Store Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized checkout area
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and proper tagging of merchandise
  • Assist with merchandising, restocking, and floor support when needed
  • Help enforce store policies and procedures

Sales Support

  • Promote store sales, promotions, and loyalty programs
  • Encourage upselling and add-on purchases
  • Support store goals by maximizing checkout efficiency and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • Previous retail or cashier experience required (lead or supervisory experience preferred)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic math and cash handling accuracy
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented

Work Requirements

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift light to moderate merchandise as needed

Performance Expectations

  • Maintain accurate cash drawers with minimal discrepancies
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality customer service
  • Ensure front-end team operates efficiently and professionally
  • Support a positive, team-oriented work environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
