The Head Hostess is a pivotal leadership role within our service team. This individual is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, including reservations, guest reception, and seating management. The ideal candidate is an ambassador of the Peaches & Cream brand, embodying professionalism, impeccable grooming, and a genuine passion for hospitality. You will ensure seamless coordination between the reception area and the service team, creating a flawless first and lasting impression for all our guests .
Key Responsibilities:1. Guest Experience & Reception:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus, ensuring a positive and memorable first impression.
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations to ensure complete satisfaction throughout their visit.
- Build rapport with regular guests, recognizing and acknowledging them to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Address and resolve any guest concerns promptly, professionally, and with empathy, escalating issues to management when necessary .
2. Reservation Management:
- Expertly manage all reservation inquiries via phone, email, and online booking channels using our reservation system.
- Accurately input and maintain reservation details, including guest information, special requests (allergies, anniversaries, etc.), and seating preferences .
- Optimize table allocation and seating arrangements using a rotation chart to ensure equitable distribution among servers and maximize seating capacity.
- Monitor dining room flow to minimize wait times and quote accurate wait times to guests during peak periods .
3. Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the hostess team, including scheduling, break planning, and daily briefings.
- Train new and existing host staff on service protocols, reservation systems, product knowledge, and guest interaction techniques .
- Act as a role model for professionalism and service standards, fostering a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment.
- Assist management in evaluating hostess performance and providing constructive feedback .
4. Operational Excellence:
- Execute opening and closing procedures for the reception area, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the hostess stand, lobby, and waiting areas.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen and service staff to communicate special guest requests, allergies, and large party arrangements .
- Utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for managing reservations and waitlists.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hostess or front-of-house role within a high-volume, fine dining, or upscale casual environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity .
- Impeccable personal presentation and professional demeanor.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with full professional proficiency in English.
- Preferred Qualification: Fluency in another European language (e.g., French, Italian, Spanish, German) is highly desirable to enhance the experience for our diverse international clientele.
- Proven ability to lead a team, multitask, and remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a guest-centric mindset.
- Proficiency with reservation management systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) and basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a strong advantage.
