Head Housekeeper

European family with one young child and three dogs is seeking an experienced FEMALE Head / Senior Housekeeper to manage and maintain the household to an exceptional standard. This is a senior but still hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, discretion, and a proactive approach to household management.

Schedule

• 5 days per week, with flexible days arranged in coordination with other staff to ensure continuous household coverage.
• 9 hours per day, including a 1-hour lunch break.
• Occasional flexibility required for evenings or when travelling with the family.
• When the family travels without you, you will be responsible for overseeing the property and caring for the dogs in their absence.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary dependent on experience and accommodation/transportation requirements, starting from AED 12,000 per month.
• Visa and health insurance provided.
• Annual leave: 1 calendar month, as per UAE Labour Law, to be taken in consideration of household needs and the family’s travel schedule.
• Probation period: 6 months, as per UAE Labour Law.
• Start date: Flexible, between now and January 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Regular maintenance and high-standard cleaning of the property.
• Care and preservation of silver, china, antiques, and other specialist items.
• Full management of household laundry, including expert handling of delicate and high-end wardrobes.
• Assisting with travel preparations and, when required, accompanying the family during travel (primarily in summer).
• Ensuring the smooth overall operation of the household.
• Engaging, coordinating, and supervising external contractors, service providers, and suppliers.
• Stock control, procurement of household supplies, and budget management.
• Supervising other housekeeper(s), including scheduling, hiring, performance monitoring, and, where necessary, termination.
• Creating and maintaining household manuals and policy documents for staff training and development.
• Promoting efficiency, harmony, and high morale among household staff.
• Welcoming and caring for household guests and visitors.

Requirements

• Valid UAE driving licence (or one that can be transferred) with several years of driving experience.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Previous experience working in a private household environment preferred.
• Must be comfortable and confident working around dogs.
• Experience in the GCC region preferred.
• Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office and web-based research and email communication.
