Role Purpose
The Project Management Head will own end-to-end execution of engineering and plant-related projects, with a sharp focus on plant shifting, machinery relocation, installation, commissioning, and stabilization.
This is a hands-on, accountability-driven role—not a coordination-only PMO position.
The incumbent will be the single-point owner ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within cost, safely, and without disruption to business continuity or workforce stability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant & Machinery Shifting Projects
- Lead complete plant relocation projects (inter-state / intra-state), including:
- Machinery dismantling, packing, transportation, re-installation, and commissioning
- Coordination with OEMs, riggers, transporters, and civil/electrical contractors

- Ensure zero ambiguity on scope, ownership, and deadlines
2. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop capex-linked project schedules with clear milestones
- Monitor daily execution progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks
- Ensure alignment between Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, EHS, HR, and Finance
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, approvals, and handover notes
3. Cost, Vendor & Contract Control
- Control project budgets and prevent scope creep
- Negotiate and manage vendors, contractors, and service partners
- Certify vendor bills in line with progress and contractual terms
- Ensure commercial discipline without compromising execution quality
4. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with:
- Factory safety norms
- Electrical & mechanical safety standards
- Local statutory and EHS requirements during shifting and installation
- Identify risks related to downtime, manpower disruption, and equipment damage
- Implement mitigation plans proactively
5. Stakeholder & Workforce Coordination
- Act as execution authority, not a messenger
- Coordinate with plant leadership to ensure:
- Smooth manpower transition
- Clear communication during project phases
- Support HR and management with fact-based inputs, not assumptions
6. Reporting & Governance
- Provide clear, factual MIS to senior management:
- Project status (RAG)
- Delays & root causes
- Cost deviations
- Escalate early—no last-minute firefighting
