This is a full-time, on-site role in Kolkata for the Head of Logistics and Marketing at The PDP Group®.
The candidate would be responsible for driving business growth, strengthening PDP Group’s market presence, and managing critical stakeholder relationships across the logistics ecosystem.
This role requires strong ICD–CFS operational understanding, close cross-departmental coordination, and the ability to represent the Group confidently with shipping lines, clients, authorities, and industry bodies. The incumbent will function as a general management leader, ensuring seamless alignment between operations, commercial commitments, timely billing, and client experience.
The role involves overseeing logistics and supply chain operations, managing warehouse and inventory systems, planning and implementing integrated logistics strategies, and supervising procurement processes to ensure an efficient and smooth workflow. The individual will also be responsible for driving marketing strategies, building client relationships, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to offer tailored solutions for the organization’s diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing, Business Growth & Market Positioning
- Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies across PDP Group’s logistics verticals (ICD, CFS, customs broking, transportation, warehousing, EXIM services)
- Strengthen brand visibility among importers, exporters, CHAs, freight forwarders, and shipping lines
- Support business development efforts through client pitches, proposals, capability decks, and negotiations
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities
2. Stakeholder & Shipping Line Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
- o Shipping lines and shipping agents
- o Importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and CHAs
- o Customs, port authorities, and other regulatory stakeholders
- o Trade associations and industry bodies
- Act as a senior point of contact for key accounts and shipping lines
- Represent PDP Group at industry forums, trade meets, port-level discussions, and conferences in India and abroad
- Handle escalations and protect the organization’s reputation through proactive stakeholder engagement
3. ICD / CFS Operational Alignment
- Possess hands-on understanding of ICD & CFS operational processes, including:
- o Import/export container movement
- o Customs clearance and examination
- o Bonded operations, yard management, gate operations
- o Documentation flow and operational timelines
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure client commitments are aligned with ground realities
- Translate operational capabilities into strong client-facing value propositions
4. Cross-Departmental Coordination & Billing Oversight
- Coordinate closely with:
- o Transport and operations teams to ensure smooth container movement and service delivery
- o Accounts & finance teams for timely, accurate billing and revenue realization
- Ensure end-to-end coordination from service delivery to invoicing and collections support
- Flag process gaps and work with teams to improve turnaround time and customer experience
5. Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor, guide, and develop marketing, coordination, and client-facing team members
- Set clear expectations, review performance, and build a culture of ownership and accountability
- Act as a leadership role model across locations and functions
6. Planning, Governance & Reporting
- Ensure structured planning for annual marketing, and stakeholder engagement
- Track key accounts, shipping line relationships, lead pipelines, and revenue impact
- Provide regular updates to leadership on market trends, competitive landscape, and stakeholder risks/opportunities
Desired Profile
Education
- Master’s degree in Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in logistics, infrastructure, ports, ICDs, or CFS environments
- Proven exposure to ICD / CFS operational processes and EXIM workflows
- Strong experience dealing with shipping lines, large clients, and regulatory stakeholders
- Prior general management or cross-functional leadership experience preferred

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
