We are seeking an outstanding Head of Arabic Medium Subjects to lead Arabic, Islamic Education, and UAE Social Studies from Pre-KG upwards. This role provides a rare opportunity to establish strong Arabic-medium provision from the very beginning of the school’s journey.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Studies provision in compliance with UAE MOE requirements.
Monitor teaching and learning standards across Arabic-medium subjects, supporting continuous improvement.
Promote Arabic language proficiency, Islamic values, and knowledge of UAE heritage across the school.
Mentor, coach, and develop teachers in Arabic-medium subjects.
Develop curriculum plans that meet both MOE and AMS expectations for excellence and inclusivity.
Monitor and analyse student progress data, implementing interventions where needed.
Build strong partnerships with parents to promote Arabic language learning and cultural identity.
Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure cohesion between Arabic-medium subjects and the wider curriculum.
Ensure all practices are inclusive and aligned with AMS’s vision and values.
Person Specification
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Education, or related field (Level 6) with teaching qualification.
Significant leadership experience in Arabic-medium subjects.
Strong knowledge of MOE curriculum requirements and inspection frameworks.
Evidence of measurable impact on student achievement and teacher development.
High-level proficiency in Arabic, with strong English for professional communication.
Desirable
Leadership experience in an international school setting.
Familiarity with IB approaches and/or transdisciplinary learning.
Experience supporting bilingual or multilingual learning environments.
Involvement in school start-ups or large-scale curriculum innovation projects.
