JoinLauriston Girls' School as Head of Athletics

Lauriston Girls' School is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Athletics to lead our Track and Field and Cross Country programs. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the sport program at Lauriston, inspiring students to reach their full potential through high-quality coaching and leadership.

About the Role

This is a casual position with hours varying across school terms and aligned with training schedules, competitions, and seasonal program needs (see position description).

Commencing Term 1 2026, with handover in Term 4 2025

As Head of Athletics, you will:

  • Lead and manage the Lauriston Athletics program across GSV, SSV, AV, and AA competitions
  • Deliver engaging and progressive coaching sessions year round
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop training programs, camps, and strategic plans
  • Mentor students and coaches, fostering a positive and inclusive sporting culture
  • Ensure compliance with sport integrity, safety, and child protection standards
  • Oversee all aspects of Track & Field and Cross Country programs
  • Coordinate training schedules, competitions, and holiday programmes
  • Support student wellbeing, injury management, and talent development
What We are Looking For
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant athletic discipline.
  • Degree in Sport Science, Human Movement or related field (desirable).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Experience in sports development and coaching young athletes.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Working with Children Check (Employee).
