Head of Buyouts & Strategic Investments

The Head of Buyouts & Strategic Investments leads the firm's buyout transactions and strategic investment initiatives, focusing on identifying, executing, and managing high-impact deals to drive portfolio growth and returns. This executive role combines deep transaction expertise with strategic oversight in leveraged buyouts (LBOs) and opportunistic investments.

Role Overview

This position oversees the end-to-end buyout process, from sourcing opportunities to post-acquisition value creation, while shaping the firm's strategic investment playbook to align with market dynamics and fund objectives. Drawing from prior private equity partner responsibilities, it emphasizes LBO structuring, M&A execution, and portfolio optimization in competitive sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Lead origination of buyout targets and strategic investments through networks, market analysis, and competitive intelligence; conduct preliminary due diligence and financial modeling to prioritize high-return opportunities.
  • Transaction Execution: Spearhead LBOs, M&A deals, and strategic partnerships, including structuring debt/equity financing, negotiations, and closing; manage cross-functional teams and external advisors for seamless execution.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor buyout portfolio performance, implement value-creation plans (e.g., operational improvements, add-ons), and drive exits to maximize IRR; provide board-level guidance to portfolio companies.
  • Strategy Development: Define buyout thesis and strategic investment framework, including sector focus, risk parameters, and capital allocation; collaborate with senior leadership on fundraising and LP reporting.
  • Team & Stakeholder Leadership: Build and mentor investment team; foster relationships with banks, sponsors, and co-investors to enhance deal flow and execution capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 12-20+ years in private equity, investment banking, or corporate development, with proven track record in leading LBOs, buyouts, and strategic deals yielding strong returns.
  • Skills: Expertise in financial modeling, valuation, leveraged finance, and due diligence; strong commercial acumen and market foresight.
  • Leadership: Executive presence for high-stakes negotiations and stakeholder management; prior P&L responsibility preferred.

Pay: RO23.000 - RO40.000 per hour
