Purpose of the Job

The Head of Construction – AI Data Center will be responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of AI Data Center construction projects. The role requires leadership in managing multidisciplinary construction teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective project delivery. The incumbent will oversee all civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and ELV construction activities from pre-construction through commissioning while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

As the functional leader of a team of 6–8 direct reportees, the Head of Construction will drive excellence in project execution, contractor management, and resource planning for large-scale, high-density AI Data Center campuses. The role demands deep domain expertise in hyperscale data center builds, strong stakeholder coordination, and a results-oriented mindset to deliver complex, high-value infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Key Deliverables:

1. Lead and oversee end-to-end construction of AI Data Center facilities, ensuring timely completion within defined cost, scope, and quality parameters.

2. Plan, organize, and manage multidisciplinary teams and vendors across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and ELV domains to ensure seamless project execution.

3. Establish construction schedules, monitor progress, and proactively manage risks, resource allocation, and project dependencies.

4. Drive safety-first culture with strict adherence to EHS standards, ensuring zero-tolerance for safety violations at all construction sites.

5. Coordinate with design, procurement, and commissioning teams to align construction progress with design intent and operational readiness.

6. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities to facilitate project delivery and compliance.

Experience Required:

1. 15–20 years of total experience in large-scale industrial or data center construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-site projects.

2. Must have: Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.

3. Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Construction Management or Business Administration.

4. Proven experience in hyperscale or AI Data Center construction projects involving large-scale civil, MEP, and infrastructure works.

5. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, MEP integration, and commissioning processes.

6. Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office, and AutoCAD.

7. Exposure to EHS management systems and quality management frameworks.

8. Certifications: PMP / PRINCE II preferred; CDCS / CDCE / ATD certifications desirable.
