Head of Data Analytics

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Data Analytics to lead the strategic direction, execution, and optimization of ALFIT Insurance’s data analytics capabilities. This leadership role is responsible for designing and operationalizing a data-driven ecosystem that supports business performance across all our lines of business — Health, Life, Marine, Aviation, and General Insurance.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will oversee the entire data value chain — from engineering to advanced analytics — and shape a data-centric culture that drives growth, compliance, and customer value.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership:

- Define and lead the enterprise-wide data analytics strategy and roadmap.

- Drive organizational data literacy and embed analytics into operational, underwriting, and executive decision-making.

- Lead cross-functional collaboration to implement scalable data solutions and foster a high-performing data culture.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure:

- Architect and scale data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, real-time pipelines).

- Oversee integration of internal systems and external feeds (TPAs, reinsurers, brokers).

- Ensure robust, secure, and cloud-based data infrastructure in coordination with IT and vendors.

Business Intelligence & Reporting:

- Deliver dashboards, KPIs, and performance analytics across the enterprise.

- Lead regulatory reporting efforts (DHA, DOH, CBUAE) in collaboration with Finance & Compliance.

- Enable self-service BI tools and frameworks for all business units.

Data Governance & Compliance:

- Implement data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with UAE regulations and applicable global standards (e.g., GDPR).

- Manage data quality, ownership, privacy, and access protocols across the organization.

Data Science & Advanced Analytics:

- Build predictive and prescriptive analytics capabilities.

- Lead initiatives in fraud detection, customer segmentation, risk assessment, and underwriting models.

- Enrich internal data with third-party and behavioral datasets.

Team Management & Operational Readiness:

- Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary data analytics team.

- Establish SOPs, training modules, and quality assurance mechanisms.

- Deputize for the COO when required and contribute to company-wide operational readiness.

Key Stakeholders:

- Internal: Executive leadership, IT, Sales, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Operational teams.

- External: Reinsurers, Brokers, IT Vendors, Clients, and Government Entities.

Decision-Making & Authority:

- Financial and operational decisions as per the Board-approved Authority Matrix.

- Strategic input and execution subject to COO oversight.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or Computer Science.

- 5–7 years in a data leadership role, ideally in UAE insurance or regulated financial services.

- Expertise in SQL, Power BI/Tableau, ETL, and data architecture.

- Deep understanding of insurance data models and regulatory frameworks in the UAE.

- Strong leadership, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

- Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).

- Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning tools is an advantage.
