Overview

To provide leadership and project management oversight and support for all power and water projects under execution, from handover at Financial Close (FC) to PCOD prior to handover to our O&M group.

To support our Business Development Teams during the bid stage and project development stage (pre-FC) to provide strategic inputs such as execution methodologies, organizational structures, budgets, scheduling, policies, procedures and general execution support.

To support our Business Development Teams during the formulation and negotiations to establish EPC Contracts, including support during the LNTP and NTP stages pre and post FC.

To support the creation of new SPV’s, including hiring of key staff and from FC you will have a dotted reporting line from the SPV CEOs.

To ensure the on-time delivery, on-budget and resultant quality in line with all contractual requirements, moreover, compliance with design specifications for a reliable and sustainable operation over the term of the concession.

To ensure the precise implementation of HSE programs.

To ensure the precise implementation of quality programs.

To ensure all Project Companies are established in a timely manner in line with agreed strategies, including the formulation of infrastructure, resources, tools and processes in line with contractual Partnership and Stakeholder targets.

To ensure the strategic and timely monitoring of project execution progress, including intervention with Project Company stakeholders as a when required.

To ensure ‘early warnings’ are communicated to the Head of Delivery for all unscheduled or unforeseen issues or risks/opportunities.

To ensure the seamless communication and information exchanges among stakeholders, including project partners, local communities, and external parties.

To ensure the efficient management of AEW internal stakeholders for all aspects of project management execution.

Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)


  • Provide project management execution support to the business development teams for all projects under the development stage.
  • Provide oversight and support for all projects under execution ensuring compliance with quality, schedule, and budget requirements with Contractors and PPA.
  • Coordinate HSSE processes implementation onsite and offsite, promoting a strong HSSE culture.
  • Provide oversight on the performance of the Owner's Engineer in coordination with the Project Companies.
  • Align technical and schedule interfaces between the Procurer and the EPC contractor, ensuring contract conformity and project needs.
  • Report technical variances to the SPV Teams and propose mitigation and alternative solutions.
  • Provide oversight and support for contractual and commercial issues under the PPA and the EPC Contract.
  • Provide oversight and support for Offtaker and EPC Contractor change/variation orders.
  • Provide regular reporting to the management team.
  • Provide ‘early warnings’ to the management team.


Contractual/Commercial

  • Robust previous experience with the execution of Power & Water Plants, including project agreements such as IPPs and IWPs (via the PPP/BOOT models).
  • Extensive previous experience in negotiation and managing OE, EPC and other critical stakeholder Contracts.
  • Timely reporting of contractual/commercial variances and proposing mitigation or alternative solutions.
  • Identify and anticipate deliverables to relevant parties.
  • Assist SPVs in claims management from Contractors and Service Providers.


Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • University Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Additional qualifications (Project Management/Construction Management) are preferred
  • 20+ years of project and site experience in utility-scale power and water generation projects.
  • Previous project execution experience in a senior leadership role, including Project/Construction Director of IPP/IWPP/IWP is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of utilities and the construction/commissioning and testing of power and water plants.
  • Experience in large infrastructure project development.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction processes, contracts, and international standards.
  • Contract/claim management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams.
  • Strong ethical standards.
