Head of Department (HOD) – Mathematics

Job Description

The Head of Department (Mathematics) is responsible for academic leadership of the Mathematics department, effective teaching of high school grades, and planning, maintenance, and optimal use of the Mathematics Laboratory to enhance conceptual understanding and student outcomes.

• Lead, plan, and coordinate all academic activities of the Mathematics department.
• Prepare and implement yearly academic plans, lesson plans, and assessment schedules.
• Ensure syllabus completion as per the prescribed curriculum and academic calendar.
• Guide and mentor Mathematics teachers to improve teaching quality and pedagogy.
• Conduct regular department meetings, review lesson progress, and address challenges.
• Ensure alignment with board/university guidelines and school policies.
• Support teachers in developing innovative teaching strategies and use of technology.

· Plan and conduct internal and board practical examinations efficiently.

· Prepare experiment lists, practical manuals, question sets, and evaluation rubrics.

· Train students in experimental procedures, viva-voce, and practical record maintenance.

· Identify learning gaps through assessment analysis.

· Plan and conduct remedial classes for slow learners and students needing additional support.

Qualifications & Experience

· Master’s degree in Mathematics

· B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).

· Minimum 5 years of experience teaching Grade XII Maths in CBSE classes.

· Experience as HOD / Senior Maths Teacher preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
