Head of Design

The Head of Design will be responsible for overseeing the entire design process for all landscaping and swimming pool projects. This includes managing the design team, developing creative concepts, collaborating with clients, and ensuring that all designs align with the company’s standards for innovation, sustainability, and functionality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in landscape architecture, pool design, and a passion for creating exceptional outdoor spaces.

• Design Leadership: Lead creative vision for landscaping and swimming pool projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and preferences. Oversee development of concept designs, mood boards, 3D renderings, and construction drawings. Ensure designs meet industry standards, sustainability, and regulations while incorporating new trends and technologies.
• Team Management and Development: Manage and mentor a talented team of landscape architects, designers, and drafts, providing leadership, guidance, and professional development, ensuring timely, budget-conscious design delivery and regular design reviews.
• Client Collaboration and Relationship Management: Work collaboratively with clients to grasp their vision and project needs, presenting design proposals and adapting them according to feedback while preserving design integrity. Maintain robust client relationships for ongoing satisfaction and repeat business, serving as the primary contact during the design phase to manage expectations and communicate progress.
• Project Oversight and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to execute design visions, review construction drawings, and conduct site visits to assess implementation, adjust, and resolve design-related issues.
• Quality Control and Innovation: ensure high-quality designs, promote sustainability through eco-friendly materials and technologies, and stay updated with new trends in landscaping and outdoor living.
• Budget and Resource Management:To create accurate design cost estimates that are in line with project budgets, cooperation with the sales and project management teams is crucial. While encouraging sustainability, the choice of materials, plants, and finishes must give equal weight to cost-effectiveness and aesthetic appeal. To appropriately incorporate design-related costs, help is also needed when producing bids and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in landscape architecture, pool design, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position.
• Proven experience in designing high-end residential and commercial landscapes, including swimming pools, water features, and hardscaping elements.
• Demonstrated success in leading design teams, managing large-scale projects, and working with high-profile clients.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp etc
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation, site planning, and landscape design principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey design concepts to clients and internal teams.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
