Position Overview

The Head of Design is responsible for leading the design function, overseeing all equipment and project designs, and ensuring that solutions meet customer needs, compliance standards, and manufacturing capabilities. This role is strategic and managerial, focusing on team leadership, process improvement, innovation, and collaboration across departments to achieve business goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor the design team, including allocation of work and performance reviews.
• Set design priorities in alignment with project timelines and sales commitments.

Design Governance

• Oversee all approval drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs before release.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards (FSSAI, NSF, ISO) and company quality benchmarks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Sales, Projects, Planning, and Production for smooth project execution.
• Support commercial discussions with technical expertise when required.

Innovation & R&D

• Drive new product development and design improvements for better manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and fabrication techniques.

Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain design SOPs, templates, and libraries.
• Implement tools and systems for better design workflow and tracking.

Customer Engagement

• Participate in high-value project meetings with customers/consultants for technical alignment. If required.
• Address escalated design-related queries or issues.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
• 8–12 years of experience in equipment design, preferably in commercial kitchen/foodservice manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ERPNext (for BOM and project tracking), and Tally (for reference to costing data and coordination with accounts).
• Proven track record of managing design teams and delivering complex projects on time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,137.39 - ₹58,295.46 per month
