We are seeking an outstanding Head of Inclusion & Wellbeing to join our founding leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to shape inclusion and wellbeing provision across the school from the very beginning.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who champions the rights of students of determination and diverse learners, ensures that every child is known, supported, and valued, and promotes wellbeing as a cornerstone of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead inclusion provision across the school in line with KHDA’s Inclusion Framework.
- Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure progress tracking for students of determination.
- Coordinate early identification, assessment, and intervention for students with additional needs.
- Embed a culture of inclusive teaching and learning by coaching and training staff in best practice.
- Lead whole-school wellbeing initiatives, supporting students’ emotional resilience, physical health, and social connection.
- Promote and monitor the academic balance and wellbeing of all learners.
- Engage families as partners in inclusion and wellbeing, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Liaise with external specialists and agencies to secure support for students where required.
- Ensure safeguarding practices are embedded across all areas of responsibility.
- Report regularly on inclusion and wellbeing provision to the Principal and governing body.
Person Specification
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Special Education (Level 6) and recognised teaching qualification.
- Significant leadership experience in inclusion, wellbeing, or student support in primary/middle school settings.
- Demonstrated evidence of measurable impact in improving provision for students of determination.
- Strong understanding of the KHDA Inclusion Framework and UAE regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to coach and develop staff in inclusive practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity.
Desirable
- Leadership experience in an international school context.
- Familiarity with international approaches (eg IB) to inclusion and holistic education.
- Experience in school start-ups or transformational change.
- Evidence of leading successful wellbeing frameworks in schools.
- Knowledge of bilingual/multilingual learning contexts.
