Job Summary
The Head of Legal & GRC will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal compliance, governance frameworks, and risk management strategies. This role ensures that corporate policies and procedures are effectively implemented, protecting the organization from legal and regulatory risks while supporting its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company’s reputation and assets through strong leadership, sound legal counsel, and proactive compliance management.
Job Responsibilities

Develop and oversee the implementation of legal, compliance, and governance strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.

Provide expert legal advice to senior leadership on corporate matters, contracts, regulatory issues, and risk management.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s interests.

Establish and maintain a robust GRC framework to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Apply effective risk management techniques and provide proactive recommendations to mitigate potential issues.

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, evaluate their impact, and recommend necessary policy or practice adjustments.

Oversee Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) programs to promote a culture of safety and sustainability.

Lead investigations into compliance issues, disputes, or regulatory breaches, ensuring timely resolution and transparent reporting.

Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, external counsel, and key stakeholders.

Lead, mentor, and develop the Legal & GRC team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Promote legal and compliance awareness through training sessions and staff engagement.
Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in
Law
(mandatory).

Master’s degree or certification in Governance, Risk Management, or Compliance (preferred).

Minimum of 10 years of experience
in corporate legal, compliance, or GRC roles, with at least
5 years in a leadership capacity
.

In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, legal frameworks, and compliance regulations.

Proven negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluency in Arabic and English (mandatory).

Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Management Professional, GRC Certification) are highly desirable.
