Head of Oil and Gas Operations

The Head of Oil and Gas Operations leads and oversees all operational activities across upstream, midstream, and/or downstream oil and gas functions. This role is responsible for operational performance, production efficiency, HSE compliance, asset reliability, budget control, and cross-functional coordination to support business and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily and long-term oil and gas operations to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted performance.
• Oversee production targets, operational KPIs, asset uptime, and service delivery standards.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, profitability, and process efficiency.
• Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting, and resource allocation across operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE standards, and applicable regulations.
• Direct risk assessments, incident management, emergency response planning, and corrective actions.
• Lead, coach, and develop operations teams, contractors, and third-party service providers.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, logistics, commercial, procurement, and support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, operations management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of oil and gas experience, including senior leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, HSE systems, asset integrity, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, teams, contractors, and multi-site operations.
• Excellent decision-making, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience in upstream production, terminal operations, refinery operations, or integrated energy operations.
• Familiarity with emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and operational risk management.
• Professional certifications in HSE, project management, or operations leadership.

Pay: QAR23.00 - QAR124.00 per hour
