Head of Operations (India)

VFlowTech is a Singapore headquartered deep tech company pioneering vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) systems for long-duration energy storage. Established in 2018, VFlowTech focuses on developing safe, scalable, and sustainable energy storage solutions. The company has installed their long duration energy storage systems in over 11 countries globally and is supporting Singapore’s ambition to be a global leader in clean energy innovation and with the vision to drive the world towards energy equity where everyone can access clean energy at affordable pricing.


Role Description

We are looking for the right leader to head our operations team in India. The Head, Operations will be responsible for formulating and executing operational strategies and priorities aligned with the company strategies and business goals. The candidate will ensure achievement of operational goals and measures through proven processes and effective people/team management.


Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the business.
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
  • Develop and manage production schedule and operations budgets ensuring that the product is delivered to agreed cost, quality, and timelines.
  • Assess the feasibility (Technical, Cost, Timeline) of any new potential product helping the company to make the right strategic decisions.
  • Coordinate team activities to optimize cost performance of the plant through capital investment programs, optimizing operating working capital usage and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles and clear strategic development.
  • Deliver strong product unit economics through the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and manufacturing objectives; establish and implement continuous improvement program for manufacturing costs, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Align with the company strategy and roll out best practices; coach, develop and guide the team to ensure delivery of overall business objectives.
  • Recommend and execute appropriate organisational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables.
  • Ensure that the team complies and drives all Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures. Ensures that potential risks and hazards are eliminated and/or addressed for the short and long term.


Requirements:

  • Degree/Master’s degree in fields of Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of leadership experience in operations.
  • Strong operations background with solid understanding of business principles and procedures.
  • Robust project management skills, including work estimation, prioritization, planning, tracking and cost management.
  • Experienced people manager with proven record of building effective teams through recruiting, managing, coaching, retaining talent and managing conflicts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill: able to analyze, draw conclusions and give recommendation on the appropriate steps forward with focus on problem prevention to reduce firefighting.
  • Ability to zoom out and look at the bigger picture and align the team towards the long-term vision.
