The HR Associate is responsible for supporting our Personnel, Training & Development, and Talent Acquisition teams in a wide variety of areas, including staffing and onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, training and development, labor laws and regulatory requirements, policy and procedure, HRIS support, and employee relations. This position will report to the Director of HR. Successful HR Associate candidates will have exceptional people skills, be highly collaborative, and excel in a team-based environment. As an HR Associate, responsibilities will include ensuring success in the following areas:


  • Employee onboarding and offboarding;
  • Benefits administration;
  • Maintaining employee relations;
  • Providing performance management guidance, including coaching, career development, training, and disciplinary actions and investigations;
  • Managing commercial insurance, worker's compensation, and professional liability insurance;
  • Compensation analysis and planning;
  • Managing payroll and budgets;
  • Partnering with hiring managers to develop and implement policies and procedures;
  • Proactively managing legal risk and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements;
  • Identifying opportunities to improve HR programs;
  • Completing ad-hoc projects, reporting, and tasks as required with cross functional teams.

We are looking for an HR Associate with the following experience / qualifications:


  • 5+ years of HR Specialist or HR Generalist experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • PHR, SHRM-CP preferred;
  • JD and/or law firm experience a huge plus;
  • Experience in policy development and implementation;
  • Ability to work with employees and managers at all levels;
  • Strong familiarity with employee laws and regulations;
  • Analytical and reporting skills and ability to synthesize data to identify issues and create solutions;
  • Effective listener and problem solver;
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills;
  • Extremely organized with strong time management skills and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities;
  • Strong business acumen and able to balance needs of people within the framework of business needs of the company.
