In March 2025, South Coast Baptist College proudly celebrated 40 years of Christ centred education - a milestone that reflects our unwavering commitment to faith, community and transformation.

Our story began in 1985 when six founding families from Rockingham Baptist Church came together to create a school centred on Christian values. With nothing more than a hired hall and a shared vision, they laid the foundation for what has grown into a thriving College with over 1,400 students and an enduring legacy.

Earlier this year, those founding families joined us on campus to commemorate our journey. Their presence reminded us of where we started and reaffirmed the values that still guide us today. Our Christian identity is not just historical - it is foundational. It permeates our leadership, classrooms and culture.

Lead Young Lives With Heart and Vision

South Coast Baptist College is looking for a full-time Head of Primary based in Waikiki, WA.

This executive leadership opportunity reports directly to the Principal and forms part of the College Executive Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Primary School (Kindergarten to Year 6) with strategic vision, spiritual maturity and operational excellence.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing executive leadership to Primary School operations, supported by three experienced Deputies
Overseeing workforce planning and staff management for a team of approximately 80, including maternity, long service and casual coverage
Embodying SCBC's Christian values through visible, hands on engagement with students, families and staff
Ensuring curriculum delivery and compliance aligns with current educational frameworks and standards
Supporting a seamless student journey from childcare through to secondary schooling
Collaborating regularly with the College Executive Team to advance school wide strategic goals
Contributing to the ongoing spiritual leadership of the College and its legacy

A Strong Start With a Supportive Team

To ensure a smooth transition, SCBC is committed to a comprehensive and welcoming onboarding experience.

Before your formal start, you will be invited to meet with the Principal, HR and Executive Team to receive detailed briefings and be introduced to key staff. You will gain visibility over the College's five year strategic plan, current focus areas and operational frameworks.

The role is expected to commence at the beginning of Term 2, 2026, but flexibility can be offered for the right candidate.

A Calling. Not Just a Career.

To qualify, you will need a relevant teaching degree and current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA). A minimum of five years' leadership experience within a primary school setting (Head, Deputy or Acting Head) is essential. You must also be a practising Christian, committed to modelling and upholding Christian values in all aspects of school life in alignment with SCBC's Statement of Faith.

Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded:

Experience in executive leadership within a school context
Familiarity with WA curriculum and compliance requirements
Background in managing diverse staffing needs and team development
Understanding of early years education, especially supporting new families
