Position Overview:

On the behalf of our esteemed Client, we are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead the organization's end-to-end procurement function across multiple business units. The role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, driving cost optimization, ensuring supply continuity, managing strategic supplier relationships, and overseeing both direct and indirect procurement activities.


The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of procurement leadership experience within large manufacturing or industrial organizations, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, cost savings, procurement transformation, and leading high-performing teams.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and implement group-wide procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities across all business units and subsidiaries.
  • Establish procurement governance, policies, and best practices to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Drive procurement transformation initiatives, digitalization, and process optimization.

Direct & Indirect Procurement Management

  • Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials, steel products, production consumables, machinery, equipment, MRO, logistics, CAPEX, and indirect categories.
  • Develop category management strategies to maximize value and mitigate supply risks.
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials to support manufacturing operations.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Develop strategic partnerships with local and international suppliers.
  • Lead supplier qualification, performance evaluation, and supplier development programs.
  • Strengthen supplier relationship management to improve quality, delivery performance, and service levels.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through supplier diversification and contingency planning.

Commercial Negotiation & Cost Optimization

  • Lead high-value commercial negotiations and contract management activities.
  • Identify and execute sustainable cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) methodologies and value engineering initiatives.
  • Monitor commodity market trends and develop sourcing strategies to optimize procurement spend.

Procurement Operations & Governance

  • Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Establish KPIs, procurement dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to monitor performance.
  • Manage procurement budgets, contracts, and vendor agreements effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Projects, and Supply Chain teams.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement teams across multiple locations and business units.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, coaching, and talent development.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and key stakeholders.


Job Requestion:


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's Degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent are highly desirable.


Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive procurement experience , including significant leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading procurement functions within steel manufacturing, heavy industrial, metals, construction materials, or large-scale manufacturing environments .
  • Experience managing substantial procurement spend and complex supplier networks.
  • Demonstrated success in procurement transformation, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization programs.
  • Strong exposure to both direct and indirect procurement categories.
