Role: Head of Product & Category Growth


Owner of beauty portfolio mix. Lead product development, market entry, market share growth, channel mix & NPS for each category. Responsible for P&L, new customer acquisition & retention strategy for all categories to meet marketshare & revenue growth KPIs.


Collaborate with internal stakeholders (brand, channel sales/growth, creative) and external agencies and stakeholders. Build an innovation & insight led approach to win.


Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development of annual operating plan for the business. Work closely with channel, brand & creative to deliver on the same.
  2. Lead the portfolio mix planning to meet brand growth goals & ambitions.
  3. Lead the P&L for every category, particularly optimising gross margins & marketing costs.
  4. Lead the innovation funnel. End to end management of all NPD / product development in collaboration with R&D.
  5. Develop all aspects of each category: Product, Identity, Architecture, Positioning, Price, Channel Mix.
  6. Initiate and drive category, competition, consumer and customer/ shopper research to drive actionable insights.
  7. Build the new trial & customer retention strategy of each category.
  8. Work closely with brand & creative teams to build effective communication for each category
  9. Work closely with brand & channel teams to evolve product/price/ positioning in order to optimise growth & marketing costs.
  10. Work with brand team for key categories in which you make use of full marketing mix.
  11. Work on product & category experience to drive excellent NPS


Qualifications & Skills

  1. Bachelors of Engineering / Science / Maths / Economics / Medicine + MBA from a premier institute.
  2. 12-15 yrs of growth/sales/business experience.
  3. Experience in consumer facing B2C industries and minimum of 5years in consumer product led brands.
  4. Fair mix of experience in both digital-first businesses as well as legacy brand businesses.
  5. Very strong analytical skills - Data forward decision.
  6. Clear fundamentals on reading/ implementing research (qual and quant) insights on category development & shopper behaviour.
  7. Clear framework led thinking.
  8. Strong pulse of female consumer behaviour & knack to understand consumer psychology.
  9. Strong solutioning ability with a creative bent of mind towards business problems. Consumer/ customer first approach and demonstrated experience.
  10. Independent decision making ability.
  11. Ability to sustain & enhance the strong collaborative culture of the organization.
  12. Strong bias towards action & hustle.
  13. Excited about building a long term brand.
