iCOUNTER is seeking an experienced Head of Recruiting to build and lead our talent acquisition function. As our first dedicated in-house recruiter, you will establish our TA strategy, define our processes, and directly source candidates across the full breadth of our business - from sales and operations to threat intelligence and engineering. We see talent acquisition as a core differentiator and a cornerstone of our growth, and we are looking for someone who shares that conviction.
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Own the full talent acquisition lifecycle from intake to close, continuously improving for speed and quality
- Build and own the TA infrastructure—including the ATS, sourcing tools, job templates, and process documentation—establishing what good looks like for iCOUNTER
- Source candidates proactively through targeted outbound strategies, building pipelines before roles become urgent
- Partner with hiring managers on role scoping, interview process design, and evaluation criteria for each open position
- Own the candidate experience end-to-end, from first outreach through offer acceptance and pre-boarding
- Shape iCOUNTER’s employer brand externally and internally, ensuring every candidate interaction reflects who we are
- Track, analyze, and report on key recruiting metrics to drive continuous improvement
- As the team grows, transition into a player/coach capacity—mentoring junior recruiters and setting standards while staying hands-on with sourcing
Work Activities
- Run intake meetings to define role requirements, target candidate profiles, hiring timelines, and interview panel composition
- Build and run sourcing campaigns across LinkedIn, job boards, professional networks, and cybersecurity-specific communities
- Screen and evaluate candidates through interviews and assessments, presenting well-qualified shortlists to hiring teams
- Manage candidate communications and feedback loops, ensuring timely and professional engagement throughout the hiring process
- Maintain and optimize the ATS and recruiting tech stack, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency
- Coordinate offer preparation, extend offers, and guide candidates through to accepted start dates
Required Skills
- Strong instinct for identifying strong candidates across diverse functions and seniority levels
- Strong relationship-building skills, able to earn trust with candidates and hiring managers equally
- Able to think strategically about talent pipelines while staying close to the details of each search
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple open roles and all associated communications without dropping the ball
- Clear and direct communicator, both in writing and in conversation
- Comfortable working independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment and able to create structure where none exists
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong process thinking and a clear perspective on what “great recruiting” looks like
Preferred Skills
- Experience in both in-house and agency recruiting roles
- Prior talent acquisition team or department leadership experience
- Understanding of and experience recruiting in the Cyber Threat Intelligence field
- Hands-on experience configuring, improving, or implementing a TA tech stack (ATS, sourcing tools, HRIS integrations)
- Experience building a talent acquisition team from scratch within a high-growth company
Qualifications
- 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a track record of closing strong candidates across a range of functions and levels
- Meaningful recruiting experience in cybersecurity, with an existing network across relevant roles (consultants, engineers, sales, threat intelligence)
- Proven experience building or significantly improving recruiting functions and processes, with a strong perspective on best practices
- Demonstrated success engaging passive candidates through outbound outreach and relationship-building over time
- Strong understanding of technical roles and the ability to assess candidate qualifications across both technical and non-technical functions
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and executive stakeholders
