As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Head of Removals to lead and develop our removals division, introducing the operational standards, structure, and professionalism required to compete with the leading premium removals companies in the industry.
The Role
The Head of Removals will take full responsibility for the removals division, overseeing operational delivery, team performance, service standards, and overall client experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong removals and logistics experience who can introduce best practices, improve operational efficiency, and elevate standards across the business.
The successful candidate must hold a valid HGV licence (Class 2 minimum) and be comfortable leading from the front, including driving vehicles and supporting teams operationally when required.
While the role is primarily focused on removals operations, the successful candidate will also work alongside installation teams on selected interior design projects when required.
Key ResponsibilitiesRemovals Operations
- Lead and manage all removals operations from planning through to completion.
- Oversee high-value residential and commercial removals projects.
- Introduce and maintain premium service standards across all removals activity.
- Improve operational structure, workflows, and efficiency.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally, and on schedule.
- Manage logistics planning, vehicle utilisation, inventories, packing standards, and transport coordination.
- Operate company HGV vehicles when required.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage removals crews.
- Implement high standards of presentation, professionalism, and customer service.
- Develop team accountability and performance management processes.
- Create training procedures and operational guidelines.
- Lead by example on-site and operationally.
Client Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout every project.
- Build strong relationships with clients, designers, and project stakeholders.
- Handle challenges and problem-solving in a calm and professional manner.
- Represent the company professionally on-site and with clients.
Standards & Process Improvement
- Introduce systems and procedures that align the business with leading premium removals companies.
- Drive continuous improvement across operations and service delivery.
- Monitor operational performance, efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensure consistency in service quality across all projects.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Promote safe handling, transport, and working practices.
- Maintain high standards across vehicles, equipment, and operational procedures.
Interior Design Installations Support
- Assist installation teams on selected luxury interior design projects when required.
- Support careful handling and placement of high-value furniture and furnishings.
- Work collaboratively with installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Candidate Requirements - Essential
- Proven experience in a senior removals or logistics management role.
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence minimum.
- CPC qualification and up-to-date Driver CPC.
- Strong operational leadership and team management experience.
- Experience handling high-value or premium removals projects.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead teams in fast-paced operational environments.
- Strong client-facing communication skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety and operational compliance.
Desirable
- HGV Class 1 licence.
- Experience within luxury removals, specialist logistics, or interior design logistics.
- Experience implementing operational procedures and service standards.
- Knowledge of inventory systems and removals software.
