Key Responsibilities
Organize and oversee the following key areas:
- 24/7 driver support
- Documentation, safety & compliance
- Transportation cost control and analysis
24/7 Driver Support (including):
- Shift scheduling and coordination between shifts
- Handling critical cases and emergency situations
- Coordinating with the Fleet Manager on scheduled maintenance
- Defining SLAs for key processes and ensuring compliance
Documentation, Safety & Compliance (including):
- Managing logbooks
- Ensuring drivers have all required documentation
- Monitoring safe driving practices and speed compliance
- Preparing accident reports and coordinating with third parties (safety outsource companies, insurance providers)
- Entering data for new drivers and equipment into the TMS
- Driver onboarding, including document signing and organizing drug tests, etc.
Cost Control & Optimization
- Monitoring and analyzing transportation costs
- Developing corrective actions to optimize expenses (fuel, repairs, etc.)
Process Improvement
- Leading initiatives to improve department performance
- Developing and maintaining dashboards to track key safety team metrics
Key Requirements
- Experience: 1+ year in a large U.S. trucking company, or experience as an auto service manager/mechanic; CDL driver experience is a plus
- Technical skills: solid understanding of vehicle/truck mechanics; knowledge of U.S. safety regulations is a plus
