Head of Sage Success

San Francisco, United States

Sagetap is a rapidly growing startup changing how enterprise technology executives discover and evaluate software. Our AI-driven platform anonymously connects tech buyers with the industry’s most credible technology vendors, helping them cut through the noise and solve their biggest problems.

Backed by investors like NFX Ventures, Uncorrelated Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, we are on a mission to fundamentally change software discovery for senior technology leaders, fostering meaningful connections in a non-sales setting.

We are a tight-knit, fast-moving team that values curiosity, transparency, and impact. If you are energetic, results-oriented, and excited to work in an early-stage environment, come help us shape the future of technology buying at Sagetap!

The Role

We’re seeking a Head of Sage Success (Buyers) to take full ownership of the Sage lifecycle: acquisition, activation, retention & community, and re-engagement. You’ll be accountable for growing monthly active Sages, increasing retention and satisfaction, and building a community that keeps executives coming back.

This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll set vision and strategy, and also run the work—design growth experiments, launch programs, and shape the product experience. You will lead a small, cross-functional team and have access to trusted advisors (e.g., a fractional CMO) as a strategic resource.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Sage growth end-to-end

  • Drive the full lifecycle: acquisition, onboarding, retention, re-engagement, and resurrection.

  • Define and be accountable for metrics such as monthly active Sages, retention, NPS, and engagement.

  • Design growth via product

  • Partner with product and engineering to build in-product loops that drive activation and habit formation. Translate customer and behavioral insights into product improvements.

  • Use data and experimentation (A/B tests, funnels, behavioral analytics) to inform roadmap and strategy.

  • Lead and grow the team

  • Manage, coach, and scale a small, cross-functional team. Align team goals with company priorities and run clear cross-functional execution.

  • Run multi-channel growth programs

  • Oversee campaigns (e.g., LinkedIn, paid media, SEO, retargeting) to acquire and re-engage Sages. Build useful content for technology executives. Expand and deepen the Sage community to encourage authentic peer-to-peer interactions.

  • Lead strategy for Sage community and events

  • Shape the community through focused live and virtual experiences—roundtables, dinners, and briefings that build relationships and loyalty.

  • Be the voice of the Sage

  • Champion the buyer experience. Bring clear customer insight into leadership, product, and vendor discussions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Product-minded growth leader: you’ve driven growth through product (activation flows, loops, retention mechanics).

  • Marketplace or community experience: background in two-sided marketplaces, B2B SaaS, or executive communities is a plus.

  • Hands-on operator: you can run campaigns, analyze funnels, and iterate quickly.

  • Community builder: you know how to foster executive-level engagement via programs and events.

  • Team builder: experience managing small, multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Data-driven and creative: you use data to guide decisions and can find practical ways to engage busy executives.

  • Clear communicator: you can align internal teams and communicate clearly with executives.

Why Join Us

  • Help build a better model for software buying—one that puts Sages in control.

  • Lead a function with real ownership and the resources to execute.

  • Work directly with the CEO and leadership team at a venture-backed startup.

  • Shape the experience for influential technology executives.

What we bring:

  • Remote-first work with regular collaboration in NYC and SF

  • Work with top talent from Google, Dropbox, Spotify, VMware, Indeed, and more!

  • Funding from top VCs like NFX, Emergent Ventures and Uncorrelated Ventures

  • Excellent benefits including flexible PTO, paid medical, dental, vision, and paid parental leave

Compensation Range: $165K - $185K
