Head of Social Media (Willing to relocate to Jeddah)

The Head of Social Media is a senior leadership role within Serviceplan, responsible for shaping, leading, and elevating social media as a core strategic discipline across clients in the Saudi market and the wider region.


The role owns social media strategy, senior client engagement, team leadership, and the overall quality and effectiveness of social outputs. Working within Serviceplan’s integrated ÜberCreativity model, this role collaborates closely with strategy, creative, media, data, and account leadership to deliver culturally relevant, insight-driven, and business-impacting social solutions.

This position plays a critical role in positioning social media not as an executional layer, but as a strategic driver of brand growth, engagement, and commercial performance.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & ÜberCreativity

  • Define and lead social media strategy across all clients, ensuring alignment with brand positioning, business objectives, and Serviceplan’s integrated approach.
  • Act as the senior social media authority within the agency, setting standards, frameworks, and best practices across platforms and markets.
  • Translate complex business and brand challenges into clear, culturally relevant, platform-specific social strategies.
  • Ensure social strategies balance brand storytelling, community engagement, and performance outcomes, in line with client maturity and objectives.
  • Champion collaboration across creative, strategy, media, and data teams to unlock ÜberCreativity through integration, not silos.


Client Leadership & Saudi Market Expertise

  • Lead senior client-facing conversations related to social media strategy, performance, innovation, and growth.
  • Confidently present social strategies, POVs, and performance reviews in English to senior stakeholders, with sensitivity to local culture and market dynamics.
  • Act as a trusted partner to clients in the Saudi market, understanding local audiences, platforms, and cultural nuances.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing social strategy leadership to pitches, proposals, and scope expansion opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to grow social media impact, effectiveness, and commercial value across existing client portfolios.


Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing social media team, including social strategists, specialists, and community managers.
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations, with structured feedback, coaching, and development plans.
  • Build a strong, inclusive team culture aligned with Serviceplan values: collaboration, accountability, curiosity, and excellence.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the skills, tools, and processes required to deliver consistently high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.


Governance, Quality & Performance

  • Oversee social media governance across all platforms, ensuring brand consistency, quality, compliance, and risk management.
  • Guide and oversee social content calendars to ensure they are strategy-led, insight-driven, and culturally relevant.
  • Monitor performance across clients, analyze KPIs, and translate data into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee community management and online reputation management in coordination with relevant internal teams.


Innovation & Future Readiness

  • Evaluate emerging platforms, formats, creators, and technologies and apply them where they add clear strategic or commercial value.
  • Stay informed on Saudi, regional, and global social media trends, competitor activity, and cultural shifts.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Serviceplan’s social media offering, ensuring it remains future-ready and competitive in the Saudi market.
