The Head SCM will lead end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management. The role is responsible for ensuring cost optimization, uninterrupted material flow, supplier development, and adherence to quality, delivery, and compliance standards in alignment with automotive industry requirements.
Role & responsibilities
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

Develop and execute supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.

Drive cost reduction, working capital optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.

Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process.

Develop risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions.
Procurement & Vendor Management

Lead sourcing strategy for direct and indirect materials.

Develop and manage supplier base (local & global).

Conduct vendor negotiations, contract management, and price benchmarking.

Ensure supplier quality compliance (IATF 16949, ISO standards).

Drive vendor development and localization initiatives.
Production Planning & Inventory Control

Oversee demand forecasting and production planning.

Maintain optimal inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG).

Improve inventory turnover and reduce obsolescence.

Implement MRP/ERP planning systems.
Logistics & Distribution

Manage inbound and outbound logistics.

Optimize freight, transportation, and warehousing costs.

Ensure adherence to OEM delivery schedules and JIT requirements.

Monitor 3PL performance and contracts.
Compliance & Quality

Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.

Lead audits related to supply chain and materials.

Implement lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma practices.
Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial).

MBA in Supply Chain / Operations preferred.

15–20 years of experience in automotive or auto component manufacturing.

Minimum 5+ years in leadership role managing end-to-end SCM.

Strong exposure to Tier 1 / Tier 2 OEM supply chain environment.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
