Head of Tax

Role Overview

Our client is a leading family office based in Abu Dhabi and they are hiring a Head of Tax to oversee their portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of the group's tax strategy, planning, compliance, and reporting across all jurisdictions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings for corporate income tax, VAT / GST, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Manage tax risk and maintain robust internal controls in line with global best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise the business on the tax implications of commercial initiatives, M&A transactions, and cross-border operations.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in tax legislation, ensuring the business remains compliant and tax-efficient.
  • Lead transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and inter-company agreements in collaboration with finance and legal teams.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Manage tax audits and controversies with a proactive, well-documented approach.
  • Partner with the CFO, finance, and legal teams on tax structuring, capital planning, and strategic projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Finance or Banking or related
  • Professional Tax qualification is preferred
  • Ideal candidate has experience dealing with international jurisdictions outside of the Middle East along with this region
