The TMS Head of Technical Services is responsible for leading the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide initiatives within the TMS Information Systems domain. This role oversees multiple technical teams and ensures alignment with business goals, operational excellence, and innovation. The Head of Technical Services acts as a key liaison between IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external partners, driving technical excellence and continuous improvement across systems and services.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for TMS Information Systems in alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Lead and mentor technical teams, including project managers, developers, and system architects.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex technical solutions across multiple platforms.
- Ensure high standards of system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate external technologies and services.
- Establish and enforce technical governance, security protocols, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in technical service delivery.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics for technical operations.
- Represent TMS technical interests in global IT initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and integrations.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in technical leadership roles, including enterprise systems management.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional and international teams.
- Experience with enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, and digital transformation.
- Strong background in project and portfolio management tools (e.g., CA Clarity PPM, JIRA).
- Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or equivalent preferred.
