Head Teacher (Portland)compensation: benefits, PTO, paid holidays, bonus

The Head Teacher is a member of the management team responsible for the shared administration and operation of a child care center.
The Head Teacher must meet the licensing requirements for a Child Care Center Substitute Director.
Minimum requirements are:
5 years experience at a licensed childcare facility as a Head Teacher, Site Director or other relevant position
AA Degree minimum Step 9 in The Registry- , Current certifications re CPR, Food handlers, Criminal Histor
BA Degree or Step 10 preferred
Administrative duties include: Record keeping, Meeting licensing standards. Shared Hiring, scheduling and supervising staff
Supervision and the care and development of children
Development and implementation of age appropriate child care program based on Oregon's Early Learning Standards
Excellent communication with parents, staff, children, and the wider community.
Supervise teacher and assistant and personnel, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented.
Evaluate staff on a bi-annual basis.
Interact daily with parents, ensuring a positive and professional image.
Conduct group observations with an emphasis on program quality, safety, and staff interactions.
Keep all records up to date (i.e --attendance sheets, screening and assessments, licensing classroom level forms, incident reports etc).
Develop and maintain clear and concise parent information center.
Ensure practice of emergency procedures in accordance with licensing standards.
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite Excel/Word Ensure that a monthly parent newsletter is written and distributed to the parents.
 Maintain a clean, attractive and orderly environment.Create an environment conducive to each child's individual growth.
Plan and implement a minimum of two site-based family events each school year.
Conduct program evaluations two (2) times per year at assigned center. ERS, CLASS
Conduct teams meetings at least monthly to distribute information and discuss progress of the program and staff concerns.
Attend a job related training's per year as requested by supervisor.
Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Be accountable for the safety and attendance of the children and staff in the program at all times.
This position is considered to have a supervisory or disciplinary relationship over minors.
Other duties as assign to meet the needs of the program as deemed by Executive Director
