Job Title: Head Nurse

Job Summary
The Head Nurse is responsible for overseeing and participating nursing activities within the Home Healthcare Department, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, regulatory compliance, staff competency, and quality assurance.
The role combines administrative leadership with active clinical participation, including supervision, training of nursing staff, and attendance at selected complex or high-profile home visits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical activities Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities and field visits.
- Ensure appropriate case allocation based on competency and complexity.
- Monitor adherence to clinical protocols and infection control standards.
- Provide clinical support during complex or high-risk home visits.
- Conduct field supervision and performance monitoring.
2. Training and Competency Development
- Develop and implement structured onboarding programs for new nurses.
- Conduct regular clinical skills training sessions.
- Assess and validate procedural competencies.
- Maintain training records and competency documentation.
- Identify training gaps and implement corrective plans.
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations.
3. Quality and Accreditation
- Support compliance with MOH regulations and applicable accreditation standards.
- Conduct internal clinical audits.
- Monitor documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate incidents and oversee corrective actions.
- Track departmental KPIs and quality indicators.
- Ensure readiness for inspections and regulatory reviews.
4. Administrative and Reporting Duties
- Prepare daily operational summaries for Medical Management.
- Submit weekly and monthly performance reports.
- Monitor staff scheduling and shift coverage.
- Oversee clinical inventory and consumables management.
- Ensure validity of professional licenses and certifications.
- Participate in recruitment interviews and technical assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Valid SCFHS license.
- Valid and active BLS certification.
- Valid and active ACLS certification.
- Minimum five years of hospital experience.
- Home healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in quality management or accreditation processes.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
- Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office.
Clinical Competencies Required examples but NOT LIMITED TO :
- Advanced wound care management.
- NGT insertion and enteral feeding management.
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
- Foley catheter insertion and care.
- IV cannulation with high success rate.
- Central line care.
- Infection prevention and control practices in home settings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Strong computer skills (Excel, EMR systems, reporting dashboards).
- Leadership experience managing teams of minimum 8 nurses.
