Position Summary
The Head Nurse oversees all nursing operations within the clinic and home health care services. This role ensures high-quality patient care, compliance with healthcare regulations, staff supervision, and efficient coordination of clinical and field nursing activities. The Head Nurse serves as a clinical leader, educator, supervisor, and patient advocate.
Key Responsibilities1. Leadership & Management
- Supervise and manage the nursing staff (clinic nurses, home health nurses, and support staff).
- Coordinate daily staffing schedules and manage workload distribution.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify staff training needs.
- Foster a professional, teamwork-oriented environment.
2. Clinical Oversight
- Oversee patient assessments, care plans, and treatment implementation.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation according to standards.
- Review and approve patient care plans for home health services.
- Provide expert clinical guidance in complex or emergency cases.
3. Home Health Care Coordination
- Coordinate and assign home visits, ensuring timely service delivery.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Ensure nurses follow infection control and home care safety guidelines.
- Communicate with families and caregivers regarding patient care needs.
4. Patient Care & Quality Assurance
- Ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and implement improvement strategies.
- Maintain compliance with national healthcare regulations, licensing, and accreditation standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and audits.
5. Communication & Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between nurses, doctors, administrative staff, and patients.
- Ensure effective communication between clinic operations and home health teams.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences.
6. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and logs.
- Oversee inventory management for medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with billing, coding, and documentation requirements for home health services.
- Develop and update clinical policies and procedures.
