Empower Health. Support Recovery. Strengthen Families.
Are you passionate about helping women and families achieve healthier, brighter futures? Imagine being part of a team that empowers pregnant and postpartum women through education, advocacy, and compassionate support. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference by promoting wellness, recovery, and informed decision-making for individuals navigating complex life challenges.
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health Educator to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you'll do more than provide information—you'll help women build confidence, improve health outcomes, and connect with the resources they need to thrive. Through trauma-informed, evidence-based education and care coordination, you'll play a vital role in supporting women, children, and families on their journey toward wellness and recovery.
If you are mission-driven, compassionate, and committed to advancing health equity and family well-being, we invite you to become part of our team.
What You Will Do:
Health Education & Wellness Promotion
Deliver individual and group health education services using evidence-based curricula and best practices. Provide education on maternal health, reproductive health, family planning, prenatal and postpartum wellness, breastfeeding, infant health, healthy relationships, and overall family wellness.
Assessment & Individualized Planning
Conduct comprehensive health assessments and screenings for clients and family members. Develop individualized health education plans that address each participant's unique needs, goals, and strengths.
Substance Use & Mental Health Education
Provide education related to substance use disorders, recovery support, relapse prevention, mental health awareness, wellness strategies, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) prevention. Support participants in developing healthy lifestyle practices that promote long-term well-being.
Care Coordination & Client Advocacy
Serve as a liaison between clients and healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, and community agencies. Facilitate referrals, coordinate services, and assist participants in navigating healthcare systems and accessing preventive, prenatal, postpartum, and specialty care.
Community Engagement & Collaboration
Develop and maintain positive relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and partner agencies. Represent ARC Community Services in collaborative initiatives, outreach efforts, and community partnerships that support women and families.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in accordance with agency standards, funding requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Assist with program data collection, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
Team Collaboration
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and program planning activities. Work closely with counselors, case managers, healthcare providers, and other professionals to support coordinated, client-centered care.
What You Will Bring:
Experience
Experience providing health education, case management, care coordination, behavioral health services, public health programming, or related community-based services. Experience working with pregnant and parenting women, individuals affected by substance use disorders, or behavioral health populations is highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field required. A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, client-centered service delivery, and health promotion practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills with the ability to engage diverse populations effectively.
Specialized Training
Training or experience in motivational interviewing, recovery-oriented care, overdose prevention, mental health education, or maternal and child health programming is preferred. Familiarity with Medicaid, public health systems, and community healthcare resources is a plus.
Compassion & Commitment
A genuine passion for supporting women, children, and families through education, advocacy, and empowerment. A commitment to creating inclusive, respectful, and culturally responsive environments where participants can achieve their health and wellness goals.
